STATE DISABILITY SERVICES

Who is Eligible?

You are eligible for disability services if you have a physical or mental disability that keeps you from working and you need vocational rehabilitation services to prepare for, find, keep or return to employment.

How Do You Apply For State Services?

Advance Placement Solutions specialists will assist you in filing out documentation to apply for services.

The Department of Rehabilitation Services (VR)

Our Supported Employment (SE) is intended for individuals with the most significant disabilities who require:

  1. substantial assistance in making a job choice
  2. substantial assistance in getting a job matching that choice
  3. a significant degree of job site support to learn the job tasks, gain work adjustment skills, and stabilize in employment
  4. long-term support to retain employment

Individuals who require Supported Employment have either never worked in competitive employment before, or have experienced significant problems in maintaining employment because of their disability.  Some have difficulty transferring job skills learned in one job setting to another job setting.  Two levels of service, “regular” and “highly challenged”, are available to meet individual support needs.

Our High School Transition School-to-Work Adjustment services help high school students with disabilities prepare for and reach employment goals.

Service Agreement between Advance Placement Solutions and Department of Rehabilitation Services   

The Transition Work Adjustment Training program is designed to prepare high school age youth with severe disabilities for competitive employment by developing important work habits, attitudes, and personal and social adjustment skills. Work Adjustment Training provided under the provisions of the service must comply with the component parts as described:  

  1. Referral  
  2. Staff Qualifications
  3. Admission Criteria
  4. Individualized Assessment
  5. Individual Training Plan     
  6. Curriculum
  7. Progress Assessment and Reporting
  8. Post Training Services Facilities and Equipment
  9. Reporting 

Department of Rehabilitation Services (High School Transitional Division)

 

  1. DRS agrees to provide payment for Transition Work Adjustment Training as set forth in program services payment section, Paragraph II, A.
  2. All services for DRS individuals will be pre-authorized before services are to begin.

The Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Services Division (OKDHS/DDSD)

Our Community integrated employment (CIE) services promote independence through paid work and training activities.  CIE services allow recipients to engage in gainful integrated employment. 

What is CIE services?

Outcome: A client who understands and can make use of available resources, and is capable of self advocacy. Has ability to use assistive technology available for home, training facility, and work  site. 

 

Services: The provider will assist the client to implement the strategies include the IPE. This may include training in use of assistive technology, and negotiating worksite and/or training facility modifications/accommodations. In addition, deficits in employment-related activities of daily living or any other barriers to community integration and/or employment may be addressed. This service can also be authorized for job retention when the above- mentioned services are needed to retain employment. Additional hours may be approved by DRS supervisor if needed.
